HTML or HyperText Markup Language is the underlying code that is used to instruct an internet browser on how to display page content. In effect, HTML are codes / coding that is placed within text in order to provide instructions to the browser to do such things as use bold letters, italic letters or underline. For example, the HTML codes of "<B>" or "<STRONG>" instruct the browse to code the letters which follow in a bold font. The text "<B>Sample Bold</B>" will cause the text "Sample Bold" to be coding as bold letters. Additional related terms:
