Term: Internet Browsers
The Internet Browser program is used to view pages on the Internet. Common "browsers" are: Internet Explorer ("IE"), Mozilla and Safari.
Internet Explorer is a Microsoft product. Mozilla is an "Open Source" product. Safari is an Apple product.
Historically, a browser called Netscape was used extensively, but is no longer supported and available.
Different internet browsers may display the same page differently. Therefore, when one is developing a website it is important to check out the way the page is displayed on one or more browsers. Sometimes, different versions of the same browser display pages in different ways.
