Term: Internet Browsers
The Internet Browser program is used to view pages on the Internet. Common "browsers" are: Internet Explorer ("IE"), Mozilla and Safari. Internet Explorer is a Microsoft product. Mozilla is an "Open Source" product. Safari is an Apple product. Historically, a browser called Netscape was used extensively, but is no longer supported and available. Different internet browsers may display the same page differently. Therefore, when one is developing a website it is important to check out the way the page is displayed on one or more browsers. Sometimes, different versions of the same browser display pages in different ways. Additional related terms:
